Engine and Core Tooling

The Conk platform, including all associated development tools, compilers, and official demonstration games, is released as open-source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

• Open Access: The source code is freely available for inspection, modification, and redistribution.
• Reciprocity: Any derivative works or modifications to the Conk engine itself must also be distributed under the same GPL terms.
• No Warranty: This software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

User-Generated Content (UGC)

Software and assets created by users employing the Conk platform ("User-Generated Games") are the exclusive intellectual property of their respective creators.

• Ownership: You retain full copyright over the original code, artwork, and logic specific to your game.
• Licensing Freedom: You have the absolute right to license and distribute your games under any terms you choose, whether commercial/proprietary or open-source (e.g., MIT, BSD, or Creative Commons).
• Commercial Use: Conk does not claim any royalties or licensing fees for games developed using the platform.

Compliance and Attribution

When distributing a game built with Conk, you must ensure that the Conk engine components remain in compliance with the GPL. This typically includes:

• Providing a copy of the GPL license text for the engine components.
• Maintaining all original copyright and attribution notices within the engine’s source files.
